Ethiopian Airlines wins award for best air cargo carrier in Africa

Ethiopian Airlines has won the award for Best Air Cargo Carrier in Africa, in recognition of its outstanding performance in cargo and logistics services.

Ethiopian Shipping and Logistics was crowned during the 2026 Asian Shipping, Logistics and Supply Chain Awards ceremony, where it was named the best air freight company in Africa.

Ethiopian Airlines explained that it continues to strengthen the global trade and logistics system, based on internationally standardized infrastructure, strategic partnerships, and the adoption of innovative logistics solutions.

She noted that this recognition came after she received the highest percentage of votes from customers and various stakeholders in the air freight sector.

Ethiopian Airlines expressed its gratitude to its partners, customers and employees, in recognition of their role in achieving this milestone.

The Twin Otter Classic G30 aircraft

In a related context, Ethiopian Airlines announced the delivery of the first of two new DHC-6 twin Otter Classic 300-G aircraft from de Havilland Canada, in a move aimed at enhancing regional air connectivity and expanding the range of specialized air services.

She revealed that the new aircraft is characterized by high operational capabilities and great flexibility, which will enable the Ethiopian carrier to support tourism activities, conduct aerial surveys, and provide air ambulance services, in addition to meeting the needs of diverse markets with greater efficiency and reliability.

Ethiopian Airlines confirmed that adding these aircraft to its fleet reflects its commitment to developing air transport services and enhancing access to regional and remote areas, thereby supporting economic and tourism growth in various destinations.

Ethiopian President: The seventh election consolidates a new democratic experience

In another context, Ethiopian President Taye Atske Selassie said that the seventh general elections embodied the consolidation of a new political and democratic experience in EthiopiaIt contributed to strengthening democratic awareness and establishing a culture of resorting to the ballot box.

This came during the announcement of the results of the seventh general elections organized by the National Election Authority in Ethiopia.

The President explained that the general elections held five years ago produced new political experiences, while the seventh general elections demonstrated the consolidation and development of those experiences on the ground.

He pointed out that the people have come to realize that elections are a means to achieve peace and stability, and the government has also realized the importance of ensuring an electoral environment that allows citizens to freely express their will, which has contributed to the success of the electoral process.
