Mohamed Fouad, the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt, met in NigeriaThe meeting was with the President of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Commission, Omar Toure, and addressed ways to enhance joint cooperation between Egypt and the Community in various fields. The meeting also discussed a number of regional issues of common interest, in addition to following up on the latest developments in the West Africa and Sahel region.
Egypt strengthens its partnership with ECOWAS to support integration and stability in West Africa
The Ambassador expressed Egypt’s pride in its historical relations with the group, and its aspiration to continue cooperation and ongoing coordination with its various member states, noting that the ECOWAS experience in regional integration represents a model to be emulated at the level of the African continent, and a fundamental pillar for achieving continental integration and development. He also stressed Egypt’s keenness to support regional security and stability and to enhance dialogue and cooperation with the group’s countries.

For his part, Toray praised Egypt’s pivotal role at the African continent level and its tireless efforts to support the continental integration and development agenda, stressing ECOWAS“ pride in the ongoing coordination and consultation with Egypt on various issues of common interest.

In a separate context, Ambassador Mohamed Fouad, the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Nigeria, met with the President of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Commission, Omar Touray.
The meeting addressed ways to enhance joint cooperation between Egypt and the group in various fields. It also discussed a number of regional issues of common interest, in addition to following up on the latest developments in the West Africa and Sahel region.
