Egypt and Madagascar strengthen their strategic partnership

Egyptian-Madagascar relations have witnessed a new impetus towards strengthening Bilateral cooperationThis comes after the signing of a number of cooperation agreements and memoranda of understanding between the two countries, during the official visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Madagascar to Egypt.

The signing ceremony took place in the presence of Egyptian Foreign Minister Dr. Badr Abdel-Aty and Madagascar's Foreign Minister Rasata Rafravavitavika, along with a number of senior officials from both countries, as part of joint efforts to expand cooperation in priority sectors.

Understanding regarding political consultations

The agreements included the signing of a memorandum of understanding on political consultations between the foreign ministries of Egypt and Madagascar, which establishes an institutional framework for regular diplomatic dialogue and coordination on bilateral, regional and international issues of common interest, in addition to the exchange of experiences and information and the strengthening of cooperation between the diplomatic institutions of the two countries.

The agreements cover maritime transport and water resources management.

The two sides also signed cooperation agreements in a number of vital areas, including maritime transport, water and freshwater resource management, port infrastructure development, and investment promotion, reflecting the two countries’ keenness to expand the economic partnership and open new horizons for cooperation.

It extended to youth, sports, and artificial intelligence

The agreements extended to include the fields of youth and sports, artificial intelligence, and digital transformation, in a move aimed at supporting the exchange of experiences, building capacities, and taking advantage of modern technology in achieving sustainable development.

Both sides affirmed that the signed agreements represent a new step towards building a comprehensive strategic partnership based on continuous consultation, strengthening economic and investment cooperation, and exchanging experiences, in order to achieve common interests and support the development process in both countries.

In another context, Ambassador Ahmed Nihad Abdel Latif, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Kingdom of MoroccoWith the Director General of the Maghreb Arab Press Agency, Fouad Aref, they discussed ways to enhance media cooperation between Egypt and Morocco, and to expand areas of coordination between media institutions in the two countries.

This came during a visit by the Egyptian ambassador to the headquarters of the Maghreb Arab Press Agency in Rabat, where the two sides discussed mechanisms to support media partnership, reflecting the depth of the historical and fraternal relations that unite Cairo and Rabat, and contributing to strengthening bilateral cooperation in various fields.
