Details of the meeting between the Foreign Minister and the President of the Republic of South Korea

This comes as part of a group meeting between the Korean President and the African ministers participating in the Korean-African ministerial meeting.
Egypt appreciates the development witnessed in bilateral relations between the two friendly countries.
During the meeting, the Foreign Minister conveyed President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi’s greetings to the Korean President and handed over a written message affirming Egypt’s appreciation for the development of bilateral relations between the two friendly countries, praising the visit made by the Korean President to Egypt in November 2025.
This represents an important milestone in the development of relations between the two friendly countries, expressing hope for increased high-level visits in the coming period, which will contribute to pushing bilateral cooperation to broader horizons.
For his part, the South Korean President asked that his greetings and appreciation be conveyed to the Egyptian President, expressing his deep appreciation for the strength of Egyptian-Korean relations and their remarkable development across all sectors, and his keenness to further develop them in various fields. He also commended Egypt's tireless efforts aimed at de-escalation, achieving calm, and supporting security and stability in the region.
A successful model of cooperation
Minister Abdel-Aati stressed that his visit to Seoul comes within the framework of building on the momentum witnessed in Egyptian-Korean relations, which represent a successful model of cooperation.
He pointed to the keenness to enhance economic and investment cooperation between the two countries, reviewing the promising investment opportunities that Egypt provides.
He called on Korean companies to increase their investments and take advantage of major national projects, stressing the Egyptian government’s keenness to provide the necessary facilities for Korean investors.
The Foreign Minister also expressed his hope to strengthen bilateral cooperation with South Korea in various fields, most notably artificial intelligence, advanced technology, digital transformation and innovation, and green transformation.

Minister Abdel-Aty also expressed appreciation for the Korean-African partnership, which represents a successful model, noting that Egypt is a major gateway to the African continent, and that there is a keen interest in developing cooperation between South Korea and African countries in various fields.
He expressed his hope for the next Korea-Africa summit in 2029, to build on the momentum in Korea-Africa relations and push political and economic relations to broader horizons.
