On one of the most important religious occasions in the country, the Kingdom of Eswatini witnessed this year the celebrations of Good Friday, which takes place on the third of April every year, in the presence of the Queen, the Prime Minister, a number of government officials in the country and public figures.

Radio Eswatini posted on its official Facebook page a photo of Queen Ndlovukaze and Imakosekati, Queen of the Kingdom of Eswatini, attending the Good Friday church service in the capital, Lobamba, where Prime Minister Russell Msu Dlamini also joined the nation in the church service.

In the Kingdom of Eswatini in particular, where Christians make up the majority of the population, Good Friday is one of the most important religious holidays, and it is an official holiday in government institutions and schools.

Details of Good Friday celebrations in Eswatini

Good Friday celebrations in the Kingdom of Eswatini are commemorated with masses and group prayers. Morning masses were held at St. Paul's Cathedral in Mbabane, and priests recited texts from the four Gospels about the Passion of Christ.

The Way of the Cross processions were also held, with churches organizing symbolic marches in the streets, in which participants carried the large cross, chanting hymns and prayers, in a scene reflecting spiritual solidarity with the suffering of Christ.

Senior religious officials participated in the events, along with a large public attendance of all ages, as the occasion was considered an opportunity for community gathering and strengthening spiritual ties.
