Arab Contractors signs contract to rehabilitate and develop a road in Zambia

Rehabilitation and development of Mutanda Menlonga Road

Engineer Ahmed El-Assar, Chairman of the Arab Contractors Company, and Mr. Nelson Shuma, Director of the Zambian Roads Development Agency, signed a contract for the rehabilitation and development of the Mutanda Minolonga road, with a length of 85 km, during an official ceremony.

The signing was witnessed by Getu Kawumba, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Zambia for Projects, Ambassador Mayada Essam Abdel Rahman, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the State of Zambia, a representative of the Zambian Ministry of Infrastructure, Engineer Mohamed Alawi, Board Member, and Engineer Ahmed Mahmoud, Managing Director of Arab Contractors Zambia. .

The project will be implemented according to the highest international standards and within the specified timeframe.

In his speech, Engineer Ahmed El-Assar thanked the political leadership in Egypt and Zambia for strengthening relations between the two countries and the Egyptian and Zambian governments.

He praised the brotherly relations between the two countries and pledged that the company would make every effort to implement the project in accordance with the highest international standards and within the specified timeframe.

Ambassador Mayada Essam also praised this road, which represents a new chapter and a bridge for Egyptian-Zambian relations, and is the first project of the Arab Contractors Company in the country of Zambia.

This new project, which is the company’s first venture in Zambia, represents the culmination of the company’s efforts through several rounds of discussions and memoranda of understanding that were signed during the Zambian president’s visit to Cairo.

The entry of Arab Contractors into the Zambian market is also a result of its leading role in implementing infrastructure and sustainable development projects in the African continent.

In his speech, Eugenie Hazeli, head of the Roads Agency, stressed the importance of the project in reducing travel time between the two cities, opening up business opportunities on both sides of the road, and contributing to the rapid arrival of agricultural products to markets, thus boosting trade in the region.

Dr. Richard Banda, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development, stated that the Zambian government is committed to upgrading the road to world-class standards after years of challenges.
