With the participation of more than 14,000 people, Ugandan prisons organize a national clean-up campaign in 19 districts.

More than 14,000 members of the Uganda Prisons Service and their families, along with inmates of correctional facilities, participated in the National Cleanliness Day activities organized today and included all 19 administrative regions of Uganda.
The participating teams carried out a large-scale cleaning campaign targeting administrative buildings, prison wards, barracks, drainage channels, courtyards and areas surrounding correctional institutions, as part of efforts aimed at improving the surrounding environment and reducing the spread of diseases associated with the accumulation of waste and poor sanitation.
The Ugandan Prison Service confirmed that the campaign reflects its commitment to supporting public health programs and promoting a culture of hygiene and social responsibility, by involving staff, inmates and their families in community service activities.
The initiative is part of the #KeepUgandaClean campaign, which seeks to encourage citizens and institutions to contribute to maintaining a clean and healthy environment, and to raise awareness of the importance of cleanliness in preventing diseases and improving quality of life.
