A step towards modernization: Burkina Faso launches a strategic transport line between Sindou and Banfora
Sutraco launches regular service at subsidized prices between the two cities

The public transport company launched (Sutraco In Burkina Faso, the Sindou-Banfora bus route between the two cities was officially launched on Thursday, May 21, 2026, with the departure of the first new bus connecting the two cities.

This new service represents an important step towards improving mobility for the residents of the Cascade region, and embodies the commitment of the Burkina Faso authorities to bring public services closer to citizens, in line with the development vision adopted by the President of Burkina Faso, the Head of State, Captain Ibrahim Traoré.
The arrival of the first bus to Sindhu sparked great public enthusiasm, and the head of the municipality's special delegation, accompanied by members of the community monitoring group and a representative of the traditional authorities, witnessed the launch of this long-awaited line. For many residents, this initiative offers a practical solution to the transportation problems between Sindhu, Banfora and the surrounding areas.
Burkina Faso continues its journey towards self-development based on social justice, equal opportunities in accessing basic services, and strengthening public infrastructure.
The launch of this bus route reflects the authorities’ commitment to improving the living conditions of citizens, particularly through a more accessible, organized and modern transportation system.
The Sindhu-Banfora route will operate on a regular schedule from Monday to Saturday, with buses departing approximately every hour and a half. The first bus is scheduled to leave at 5:45 a.m., while the last bus will leave the station at 6:30 p.m.
These times will allow workers, shop owners, students and other users to better organize their daily commutes, while ensuring greater safety and convenience.

The fares for this intercity service are designed to be affordable. The Sindhu-Banfora route costs 900f, while the Sindhu-Duna route costs 200f, and monthly passes are available for regular bus use.
