Abdel Rahman Raafat, the Egyptian ambassador to Djibouti, received Mahdi Moumin, the Secretary General of the Djibouti Football Federation, at the embassy headquarters.

The meeting discussed ways to support sports cooperation between Egypt and Djibouti, most notably following up on the developments of the project to redevelop and rehabilitate Hassan Gouled Stadium.

The meeting included a review of the latest developments related to the ongoing development work at the stadium, ensuring its compliance with the specifications and standards of the Confederation of African Football, in a step that would improve the sports infrastructure in Djibouti and prepare the facilities to host continental events and competitions.

The two sides also discussed opportunities to benefit from advanced Egyptian expertise in the field of sports training, in light of the previous successful experience during which an Egyptian coach led the Djibouti national team, and the positive results achieved by that experience in terms of technical performance.

The two sides discussed the possibility of repeating this experience during the next phase, within a broader framework to enhance the sports partnership between the two countries.

This meeting comes within the framework of a shared vision to deepen Egyptian-Djiboutian cooperation in the sports field, as it is one of the paths to rapprochement, capacity building, and exchange of experiences in a way that serves the aspirations of both sides.

At the end of the meeting, Mr. Mahdi Moumin presented the ambassador with the official jersey of the Djibouti national team as a gift, expressing appreciation for the depth of bilateral relations and the spirit of positive cooperation between the two countries.
