Egypt is pushing for faster registration of Egyptian medicines in Zambia.
Within the framework agreement after its activation between the two countries

Ambassador Mayada Essam, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Zambia, received Dr. Alex Katakwe, the Zambian Minister of Health, at the Egyptian Residence in Lusaka, in the presence of Dr. Magid George, member of the Export Council for Medical Industries and Chairman of the Egyptian-South African Business Council. Also participating in the meeting were the Chairman of the Zambian Drug Authority (ZAMRA), Dr. Makomani Siyanga, and a number of leaders from the Zambian Ministry of Health and the Zambian Drug and Medical Supplies Agency (ZAMMSA).

The meeting addressed ways to enhance relations between the two countries in the pharmaceutical industries, to build on the general framework agreement to accelerate the registration of Egyptian medicines in Zambia between the Egyptian Drug Authority and its Zambian counterpart (ZAMRA), which was activated in July 2025, and to work on transferring accumulated Egyptian expertise in high-quality medical industries to Zambia and South Africa.
Pharmaceutical industries are becoming closer in Egypt and Angola
In another context, Ambassador Nevin El-Husseini, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the Republic of Angola, met with Ambassador Domingos Custódio Vieira Lopes, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for International Cooperation and Angolan Communities, accompanied by a delegation of experts from Pharco Pharmaceuticals.
The meeting addressed ways to enhance Egyptian-Angolan cooperation in the pharmaceutical field, and explored opportunities to benefit from Egyptian expertise to support efforts to develop the pharmaceutical supply, production and distribution system in Angola, in order to support the health sector and enhance its capabilities.
Angola is the second largest Portuguese-speaking country in terms of total area and population after Brazil, and the fifth largest country in Africa.

Meanwhile, Kigali, the capital of Rwanda, is preparing to launch the African CEO Forum, the largest gathering of the private sector in Africa, on May 14 and 15, at a time when Africa no longer wants to be portrayed as an arena of competition between global powers, but rather wants to be recognized as an economic, industrial and political player in the present.
Rwandan President Paul Kagame received a delegation headed by Egyptian businessmen Ahmed El Sewedy, CEO of El Sewedy Electric, and Hossam El Shaer, Chairman of Sunrise Cruises and Madar Resorts, in the capital. KigaliOn the sidelines of the African CEO Forum, which will be held in the capital Kigali on May 14 and 15, 2026.
