A delegation from the Arab-African Youth Council visited the Maspero Theater as part of a field tour within the Egyptian Radio's directed broadcasting network, in an effort to strengthen cooperation. media Cultural ties between Egypt and various African and Arab countries.

The delegation included a number of prominent youth figures, including Abbas Ajaba, Secretary General of the Arab Youth Council from Uganda, Amina Helmi, Assistant Secretary General from Morocco, along with Elon Kolond from Uganda, Rebecca Jasika, Director of Programs and Projects, and Haitham Al-Warfali from Libya, Head of the Youth of the Future Movement.

This diverse representation reflects the nature of the council as a regional youth platform that aims to promote communication between Arab and African youth, and the exchange of experiences in the cultural, media and development fields.

Praise for the role of Egyptian international radio stations

The delegation members expressed their appreciation for the role played by the Egyptian Radio's Directed Broadcasting Network, especially in supporting communication with African countries through multilingual media content.

They emphasized that this network plays an important role in promoting mutual understanding between peoples and conveying an image of Egyptian and Arab culture abroad, which contributes to supporting international relations at the cultural and media level.

For their part, network officials explained that Egyptian radio broadcasts its content in 23 different languages, directed to the continents of Africa, Asia and Europe, within the framework of a media strategy aimed at enhancing the Egyptian presence internationally and supporting cultural dialogue between peoples.

Strengthening media and youth cooperation

During the meeting, both sides emphasized the importance of continued cooperation between Egyptian media institutions and the Arab-African Youth Council, which would provide greater opportunities for exchanging experiences and implementing joint programs targeting youth in various countries.

The importance of the media’s role in supporting development issues and cultural integration, and in raising awareness among new generations about the importance of dialogue and openness between peoples, especially in light of current regional and international challenges, was also emphasized.

In a related context, the National Media Authority announced preparations for holding the first Maspero Conference for Music and Song in June 2026, under the chairmanship of the great poet Gamal Bakheet, and organized by the Nile Cultural Channel, headed by media personality Suha Al-Naqqash.

The conference aims to discuss the reality of the music and singing industry in Egypt, and to review the changes that have occurred in its basic elements of music, lyrics and performance, in addition to examining the future of the song industry in light of technological and digital transformations.

The conference is scheduled to be held inside Maspero over one day, and will include three discussion sessions during which working papers and specialized ideas will be presented, with the participation of a select group of artists, researchers and specialists in the field.
