Recent developments in the tension between Iran and the United States indicate that a major breakthrough is on the horizon regarding the war, following intensive diplomatic efforts and the beginning of an agreement on a 14-point memorandum of understanding to end the conflict and stop the military escalation between the two sides.
A 14-point memorandum brings the end of the war between Iran and America closer.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismail Baghaei said that the ongoing negotiations between Tehran and Washington have seen remarkable progress in recent days, explaining that many points of disagreement have been narrowed, while work is underway to finalize the agreement's terms within a period of 30 to 60 days.

He stressed that the memorandum of understanding would not come into effect until a final agreement was reached, but emphasized that the current focus is on ending the war and preventing a renewed military confrontation, which reflects the political will of both sides to avoid escalation.
These developments come in conjunction with broad regional and international moves to contain the crisis, with Pakistan playing a prominent role in mediation efforts, through meetings held by Pakistani Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir with senior Iranian officials, including Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi and Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf.
Despite continued Iranian warnings about responding to any potential US attack, observers believe that these statements are intended to strengthen negotiating leverage and exert political pressure, especially given the ongoing diplomatic channels and the fact that talks have not yet collapsed.
In contrast, American reports revealed that US President Donald Trump is considering several options for dealing with Iran, including the military option. However, his remaining in the White House and canceling weekend arrangements reflect the sensitivity of the current stage, which may witness decisive decisions, either towards an agreement or escalation.
Current data indicates that the chances of reaching a political understanding are greater than ever, especially with both sides talking about reducing points of disagreement, and international mediations continuing to prevent a new round of war in the region.
Analysts believe that the anticipated agreement, if finalized, could open the door to a new phase of de-escalation between Iran and the United States, and spare the Middle East a large-scale military confrontation that threatened the stability of the region and the world.
