To enhance its operational services, Juba International Airport receives two passenger buses.

Juba International Airport in South Sudan witnessed on Wednesday a ceremony to hand over two modern buses by the government's electronic services platform "eService" to the Civil Aviation Authority, designated for transporting passengers between the departure hall and the aircraft.

This is an important step in the efforts to develop and improve air transport services, in an initiative aimed at enhancing the level of services provided to passengers and upgrading the airport's operational infrastructure.

The handover ceremony took place in the presence of Ayi Garang, Director General of the South Sudan Civil Aviation Authority, and Tijok Simon Ajak, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Government Electronic Services Platform, along with a number of officials and employees in the aviation sector. Those present confirmed that this step represents a qualitative addition that contributes to improving the passenger experience and providing safe and comfortable means of transportation within the airport.

An important step towards strengthening the modernization process

Dr. David Cesarwani, a senior official at the Government Electronic Services Platform, confirmed that the handover of the buses from the Government Electronic Services Platform to the Civil Aviation Authority represents an important step towards strengthening the modernization and institutional development process in the country.

He explained that this initiative reflects the shared commitment of both sides to support efficiency and improve the level of services provided to citizens, noting that the occasion is not limited to the handover of assets and equipment only, but embodies the spirit of cooperation and integration between government institutions in a way that contributes to the development of the infrastructure of the aviation sector.

He added that strengthening the partnership between national institutions is a key factor in supporting the growth of the civil aviation sector and raising its operational capabilities, noting that providing modern means of transportation within Juba International Airport helps to improve the passenger experience and enhance the quality of services provided to them, in line with the state’s efforts to modernize public facilities and drive development.

The delivery of the two buses comes at a time when the Civil Aviation Authority is showing increasing interest in developing Juba International Airport to keep pace with the continued growth in travel.

It also enhances the international airport’s position as a major air gateway to the country, within a vision aimed at upgrading the civil aviation sector, supporting economic development, and facilitating the movement of citizens and visitors alike.
