President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi met on Tuesday with President Michael Randrianireina of Madagascar, on the sidelines of his participation in the Africa-France Summit meetings held in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi.
Strengthening bilateral relations between Egypt and Madagascar
The official spokesman for the Presidency of the Republic stated that the meeting addressed ways to enhance bilateral relations between Egypt and Madagascar in various priority areas, as the President affirmed Egypt’s readiness to provide all forms of support to Madagascar in its efforts to achieve sustainable development, as well as discussing opportunities for joint cooperation in the fields of trade and investment, infrastructure development, agriculture, health, and human development.
Ambassador Mohamed El Shenawy, the official spokesperson, added that the President of Madagascar expressed his deep appreciation for the course of relations with Egypt, praising the fruitful cooperation that has extended between the two countries, and stressing his country’s keenness to intensify coordination with Egypt in various fields in a way that strengthens bilateral relations and achieves common development goals.

The official spokesperson indicated that the meeting also touched on a number of regional issues of common interest, as the two presidents agreed on the importance of strengthening consultation between the two countries regarding the challenges facing the African continent, in order to support peace, security, stability and development, within the framework of achieving the goals of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the African Union Agenda 2063, as they represent the strategic vision for achieving comprehensive development in the continent.
