Road projects in Burkina Faso

President Burkina FasoIbrahim Traore, a huge shipment of vehicles and public works equipment for the Faso Mebou Agency, was handed over during an official ceremony held on Monday morning.
Burkina Faso is deploying heavy equipment to accelerate road construction in four regions.
During the handover of the equipment to the agency’s Director General, Commander Zodnoma Ahmed Sakandi, Traore explained that this step aims to strengthen and accelerate road construction work, especially in the targeted areas, stressing the importance of the effective use of the equipment to ensure maximum benefit is derived from it.
The shipment included 776 various vehicles, including small transport trucks, semi-trailers, graders, compressors, hydraulic excavators, as well as asphalt crushing and production plants, crane trucks and tankers, as part of an integrated infrastructure development plan.

This equipment is to be distributed across four main regions: Tanunian, Djoro, Nando, and Nakambi, with the aim of activating new teams to carry out road projects in these regions.
During the ceremony, the President stressed the need to involve local communities in the implementation of these projects, calling on local officials to mobilize citizens to support the road project, considering that popular participation is a key factor in maintaining these projects and ensuring their sustainability.
This move comes as part of the government's efforts to strengthen infrastructure and drive development, within the framework of what the authorities describe as a progressive popular revolution, which seeks to achieve broader economic and developmental openness in the country.
