The Prime Minister launched EthiopianAbiy Ahmed launched the Addis Mesob digital mobile government service, the first of its kind in the country, with the aim of facilitating citizens' access to public services in various areas Without having to go to traditional government offices.
Mobile service buses
The initiative relies on fully equipped mobile buses that operate as integrated service centers, enabling the provision of a wide range of government services at the citizen's location, reflecting a shift in the way public services are delivered towards a more flexible and efficient model.
The reports explained that the project relies on a unified infrastructure model that helps reduce data center setup costs while ensuring the quality and efficiency of services provided. This system aims to standardize work processes and deliver the same level of service across all mobile centers.


Comprehensive government services
The mobile service covers a wide range of government sectors, including:
1- Revenue services such as issuing identity cards
2- Business services and issuance and renewal of work permits
3- Medical examinations for driving licenses
4- Civil registry services such as birth registration and ID renewal
5- Vehicle services and driver's license renewal
6- Electronic payment services for public utilities such as electricity
Advanced technological infrastructure
According to reports that covered the launch of the project, the buses were equipped with advanced operating systems including solar power, high-speed communication networks, monitoring systems and cameras, in addition to integrated technical equipment to ensure the continuity and efficiency of the service, after the successful completion of the trial operation phase.
Abiy Ahmed stressed that the project reflects a shift in the philosophy of government work, so that citizens do not have to travel to obtain services, but rather the service is delivered to them directly.
Earlier, Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed inaugurated the 100-megawatt Asila wind farm in Itiya, Arsi Zone, Oromia Regional State.
According to the Ethiopian News Agency, the farm adds significant clean energy to the national grid as part of Ethiopia’s project towards a diversified and sustainable energy future.
The agency notes that the project, funded with €145 million in support from Denmark, was constructed by Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy with consultancy from the Ethiopian Engineering and Electric Power Corporation.
