Cairo, in coordination with Khartoum, is offering new facilities for voluntary return trips for the community residing in Egypt, through an electronic platform that helps to quickly complete the return procedures.

The Sudanese embassy launched the electronic platform, which helps the Hope Committee for Voluntary Return to organize travel operations and determine departure points from Egypt.

The initiative focuses on groups who have not legalized their residency status in Cairo and have legal violations. It is a free initiative, in which Sudanese businessmen contribute, along with facilities from the Egyptian and Sudanese authorities in providing low-cost means of transportation.

Egypt launched an initiative for the voluntary return of Sudanese people in October of last year, by allocating a train from Cairo to Aswan. The initiative contributed to transporting thousands of families until last December, before it stopped for 3 months and returned again this Saturday.
