Egypt and Algeria celebrate the July Revolution, embodying the depth of relations and opening new horizons for partnership.

The Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Algeria, headed by Ambassador Abdel Latif Al-Layeh, celebrated the seventy-fourth anniversary of the glorious July 23 Revolution, during an official ceremony held at the Sheraton Hotel in Club des Pins, amidst a wide attendance of senior Algerian officials, members of the diplomatic corps, representatives of official institutions and public figures.
The celebration was attended by Dr. Kamal Badari, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Dr. Abdelkader Djellawi, Minister of Public Works and Infrastructure, along with MP Mohamed Larbi Slimani, Vice President of the National Assembly and Chairman of the Egyptian-Algerian Parliamentary Friendship Group, representing the President of the National Assembly.
The celebration was also attended by His Eminence Sheikh Dr. Muhammad Al-Ma’moun Al-Qasimi Al-Hassani, Dean of the Great Mosque of Algiers, and a number of representatives of the government, parliament, the People’s National Army and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as accredited ambassadors, international organizations, members of the Egyptian community and Egyptian companies operating in Algeria.
Egypt's modern achievements topped the ambassador's speech
In his speech, Ambassador Abdel Latif Al-Layeh expressed his happiness at commemorating the July Revolution, noting that the celebration comes at a time when Egypt is witnessing major developmental achievements.
The most prominent of these are the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum, the completion of the first phase of the new administrative capital, the relocation of state institutions to the government district, as well as the opening of the new strategic command headquarters, reflecting the Egyptian state’s vision for modernization and comprehensive development.
Culture is a permanent bridge for Egyptian-Algerian rapprochement.
The ambassador affirmed that Egyptian-Algerian relations are based on a long history of cooperation and solidarity, noting that the embassy recently commemorated the sixtieth anniversary of the passing of musician Mohamed Fawzi, composer of the Algerian national anthem.
He explained that this was done in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture and Arts and the Algiers Opera House, in an event that embodied the status that culture and arts occupy as one of the most important bridges of communication between the two peoples.
Expanding economic partnership and promising investment prospects
The ambassador explained that economic relations between the two countries are witnessing remarkable development under the support of the two political leaderships, with Egypt becoming Algeria’s first Arab trading partner.
He pointed out that it was among the top three foreign investors in the Algerian market with direct investments approaching $6 billion.
He stressed that the next phase will witness continued coordination and consultation to explore new investment opportunities, which will contribute to strengthening common interests and push the economic cooperation between the two brotherly countries towards broader horizons.
