Urgent need to integrate non-appointed doctors

The Ministry confirmed public health And prevention in Chad that the health sector faces a significant shortage of human resources, pointing to its need for about 22,000 health workers of various specializations, at a time when hundreds of doctors are still awaiting their inclusion in public service.

This came during a meeting held on Tuesday morning by the Minister of Public Health and Population, Dr. Abd Al-Majid Abd Al-Rahim, with a group of doctors not integrated into public service, to discuss their appointment file and review the procedures related to their integration into the public sector.

Call for the Prompt Integration of Unappointed Doctors

The Doctors Group spokesperson said the goal of the meeting is to demand the rapid integration of unemployed doctors, allowing them to contribute to providing health services to citizens and support efforts to develop the country's health system.

He clarified that the number of doctors whose files are still under study by the public service authorities is 494 doctors, in addition to more than 200 doctors who recently graduated from medical schools and are also awaiting appointment opportunities.

Strengthening Human Resources in the Health Sector

The doctors' representatives confirmed that integrating these competencies would contribute to strengthening human resources within the health sector and improving the level of medical services provided to citizens, especially in light of the shortage experienced by health institutions.

For his part, the Minister of Public Health and Prevention emphasized that the ministry continues to coordinate with the relevant authorities to advance integration files, explaining that all files submitted to the Human Resources Department have their procedures completed and are forwarded to the public service departments.

The minister added that Chad is in dire need of healthcare professionals, stressing that the authorities are prioritizing youth employment and urging doctors who are still awaiting appointment to be patient until the administrative procedures for their integration are completed.
