In press statements, the Nigerian Minister of Information affirmed that the government considers improving the security situation a strategic priority that requires comprehensive coordination between the various security agencies, in addition to continuous cooperation with neighboring countries and regional organizations.
He added that President Tinubu stressed the importance of implementing effective policies aimed at protecting civilians and promoting stability in the northwestern and central regions of Nigeria, which have witnessed an escalation in terrorist operations, kidnappings, and armed attacks in recent years.

Minister Idris indicated that the government is closely monitoring the security situation, stressing that President Tinubu is committed to following up on daily reports from the security forces and analyzing developments on the ground in order to make quick and effective decisions.
He added that cooperation with regional partners includes the exchange of intelligence information and the coordination of joint security operations to reduce the activity of armed groups that threaten regional security and stability.

Idris also stressed that the government will spare no effort in confronting security challenges to ensure the return of normal life for citizens, and to achieve lasting stability that contributes to the economic and social development of the country.
This confirmation comes amid continued public and international pressure on Nigeria to find urgent solutions to the growing insecurity, which has significantly affected schools and local communities, especially in areas affected by recurring violence.
Nigeria, Africa's most populous nation, is grappling with a persistent wave of violence, including attacks by armed groups, particularly in the northwest, as well as frequent kidnappings for ransom in several states. These challenges have led to temporary restrictions on schools and public facilities in some areas, and a heightened security presence on the ground to ensure the protection of the population.
