Egypt's ambassador to Burkina Faso meets with the foreign and interior ministers to discuss the situation of the Egyptian community.

التقى السفير محمد الغزاوي، سفير مصر في واجادوجو، مع وزيرى الخارجية والداخلية البوركينيين، لمتابعة عدد من ملفات التعاون الثنائي بين البلدين فى عدد من المجالات المختلفة.

وناقش السفير، وضع الجالية المصرية فى بوركينا، ورعاية مصالح أبنائها وضمان أمنهم وسلامتهم، والعمل على توعيتهم بتجنب التواجد فى المناطق الخطرة.

كذلك تضمنت المشاورات، الحرص على إبعاد أبناء الجالية المصرية، عن المناطق المحظور التواجد بها لحين تطهيرها من بؤر الارهاب، والعناصر التابعة للجماعات الارهابية فى هذه المناطق.

وعلى صعيد آخر، التقى السفير عبد الرحمن رأفت، سفير جمهورية مصر العربية لدي DjiboutiWith Dr. Jama Mohammed, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, at the Ministry headquarters.

The meeting began with congratulating His Excellency on assuming his position, expressing sincere wishes for his success in carrying out his responsibilities during the next phase.

The ambassador reviewed the overall cooperation relations between the two brotherly countries in the energy sector, in light of the directives of the political leadership in both countries and their keenness to strengthen the bilateral partnership in this vital sector.

The meeting also addressed the latest developments in the solar power plant project in Omar Jaja village, and discussed ways to develop joint cooperation and benefit from accumulated Egyptian expertise in implementing renewable energy projects and similar projects during the next phase.

The two sides also discussed prospects for cooperation in the field of capacity building and training of technical personnel, which would contribute to supporting development efforts and achieving energy security in Djibouti.

Boosting trade between Egypt and Djibouti

Earlier, on Sunday, June 14, Dr. Badr Abdel-Aty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptians Abroad, and Abdul Qader Hussein Omar, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Djibouti, held a telephone conversation to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral relations and exchange views on developments in the Horn of Africa region.

Ambassador Tamim Khallaf, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that Minister Abdel-Aati praised the momentum witnessed in the bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries, and the mutual keenness to develop and enhance cooperation in various fields, especially in the field of energy, logistics, ports, maritime connectivity and infrastructure.

He stressed the importance of continuing coordination to implement joint projects, which would contribute to increasing the volume of trade between the two countries, encouraging investments, supporting the participation of the Egyptian private sector in the Djiboutian market, in addition to strengthening technical cooperation in the field of capacity building through technical courses organized by Egyptian institutions.

Regarding developments in the Horn of Africa, the two ministers exchanged views on the latest security and political developments in the region, and ways to support efforts to achieve stability and promote regional peace and security.
