European support strengthens the capabilities of the national police in Chad
A European mission praises the results of support for the security sector.

On Tuesday, the leadership of the Chadian National Police, along with a European mission specializing in evaluation and governance, discussed the results of EU-funded support programs for the security sector in Chad, as part of a review of the achieved results and strengthening prospects for joint cooperation between the two sides.
The Director General received the First Deputy of the Chadian National Police, Brigadier General Paul Manga, and the international expert in the fields of monitoring, evaluation, governance and peacebuilding, Cécile Colin, who is conducting a field visit to assess the impact of European programs implemented in the country.
Significant improvement in the performance of security institutions in Chad with European support
The discussions addressed the reality of European support directed to the Chadian security sector, particularly with regard to strengthening the capabilities of the national police and defense and security forces, in addition to supporting governance paths and consolidating institutional stability, in a way that contributes to developing security performance and services provided to citizens.
During the meeting, the European expert praised the initial results produced by the support programs, considering that the current indicators reflect a positive impact in the areas of peacebuilding, strengthening governance and supporting stability, in addition to developing the capabilities of security institutions in Chad.

The meeting was attended by a number of senior national police officials, including the Director of the Director General’s Office, the Director of Media and Public Relations, and the Director of Human Resources, along with the Commissioner General of the National Police, where existing cooperation and future challenges were reviewed.
This visit comes within the framework of the ongoing partnership between Chad and the European Union, which aims to support institutional reform pathways, build security capacities, and promote internal stability, which will positively impact development and improve the level of public services in the country.
