President Sisi discusses with his Congolese counterpart the two countries' aspirations to continue working together.

President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi held a telephone call today with his Congolese counterpart, Denis Sassou Nguesso, during which they expressed their desire to continue joint work with the Republic of Congo to strengthen the bonds of cooperation between the two countries.
The official spokesman for the Presidency of the Republic stated that the President congratulated the President of the Republic of Congo on his victory for a new presidential term in the elections held in March 2026, noting that this victory reflects the people’s confidence in the Republic of Congo to continue working towards achieving development and prosperity under the leadership of President Sassou Nguesso.
Ambassador Mohamed El Shenawy, the official spokesperson, added that the President also expressed Egypt’s aspiration to continue joint work with the Republic of Congo in order to strengthen the bonds of cooperation that link the two countries, in a way that achieves the aspirations and interests of the two brotherly peoples, in addition to continuing coordination between the two countries in regional and international frameworks.
Continuing to develop relations with Egypt
For his part, President Sassou Nguesso expressed his deep appreciation for the President’s congratulations, stressing his country’s keenness to continue developing relations with Egypt in various fields, and praising the fraternal ties that unite the two countries and the two brotherly peoples.
The official spokesperson explained that the two presidents discussed a number of issues on the regional and international arenas, where the need to resolve the conflicts facing some countries in the African continent was emphasized through peaceful means, in a way that ensures the preservation of the capabilities of their peoples and respect for their sovereignty, and that allows for creating the space for achieving progress and prosperity.
