The union outlines its future plans to enhance media cooperation and professional training.

Union contract journalists The Africans held their first meeting, chaired by Dr. Mohamed Fayez Farhat, President of the Union and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al-Ahram Foundation, and attended by Dr. Samia Abbas, Secretary-General of the Union, Ambassador Ahmed Haggag, Advisor to the Union, and members of the Board of Trustees: Ambassador Mohamed Hegazi, Professor Ezzat Ibrahim, Professor Ahmed Ayoub, journalist Maher Abdel Aziz, journalist Ayman Adly, and Professor Zeinab Helmy, Director of the Courses Department at the Union.
The Union of African Journalists holds its first meeting, chaired by Dr. Mohamed Fayez Farhat.
During the meeting, Dr. Farhat stressed the important role that the Union plays in supporting media cooperation between the countries of the continent, promoting awareness and development issues and confronting common challenges, stressing that the next stage requires a conscious media capable of supporting stability and development within the African continent, which places a great responsibility on the Union.

Farhat was keen to express his thanks and appreciation to the journalist Mahfouz Al-Ansari, the former president of the Union, in recognition of the great efforts he made during his presidency, and his sincere contributions to supporting the Union’s progress and enhancing its presence on the African scene.
The Union of African Journalists promotes cooperation and training to serve the continent.
The meeting witnessed a review of the Union’s future work plans and programs aimed at expanding the areas of media cooperation, training and qualification, and organizing events and courses that support journalistic and media personnel in the African continent, in order to contribute to building a strong and influential African media, and to work on strengthening relations with press institutions in African countries in a way that supports the message of Egyptian-African cooperation.
A strong start for the Union of African Journalists under the leadership of Farhat
At the conclusion of the meeting, Dr. Farhat thanked the members of the Board of Directors for their efforts and support, stressing that the Union seeks during the next stage to strengthen its role as an African media platform that supports the paths of development and integration among African peoples, and to enhance African awareness through the African media elite as one of the important elites within the continent.
