Data from the Central Agency for Public Mobilization andStatisticsToday, Wednesday, the value reached trade exchange Trade between Egypt and the Democratic Republic of Congo is expected to reach $461.6 million in 2025, compared to $679.1 million in 2024.
The release of the data coincided with President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi’s meeting on Wednesday with President Felix Tshisekedi of the Democratic Republic of Congo. Egypt’s Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics is monitoring the president’s official activities and visits and issuing a press release that includes economic relations.
Egyptian exports to the Democratic Republic of Congo amounted to $14.2 million in 2025, compared to $17.2 million in 2024, while Egyptian imports from the Democratic Republic of Congo amounted to $447.4 million in 2025, compared to $661.9 million in 2024.
Electrical appliances top Egypt's exports to Congo

The most important commodity groups that Egypt exported to the country located in the center of the African continent during 2025 were electrical machinery and appliances worth $4.4 million, iron or steel products worth $1.9 million, vegetable and fruit preparations worth $1.6 million, plastics and their products worth $1.2 million, and miscellaneous commodity groups worth $5.1 million.
The most important commodity groups that Egypt imported during the year included copper and its products worth $445.8 million, tin and its products worth $1.3 million, and miscellaneous commodity groups worth $300,000.
Remittances from Egyptians working in the Democratic Republic of Congo amounted to $8 million during the fiscal year 2024/2025, compared to $2.4 million during the fiscal year 2023/2024.
Meanwhile, remittances from workers from the Democratic Republic of Congo in Egypt amounted to $1.5 million during the fiscal year 2024/2025, compared to $1.2 million during the fiscal year 2023/2024.
The value of investments by the Democratic Republic of Congo in Egypt was recorded at $3.4 million during the fiscal year 2024/2025, compared to $36,000 during the fiscal year 2023/2024.
Meanwhile, the value of Egyptian investments in the Democratic Republic of Congo amounted to $11.8 million during the fiscal year 2024/2025, compared to $17.6 million during the fiscal year 2023/2024.
Egypt’s population was recorded at 109.1 million in June 2026, while the population of the Democratic Republic of Congo was recorded at 116.2 million during the same period. The number of Egyptians present in the Democratic Republic of Congo, according to the mission’s estimates, reached 2,000 Egyptians by the end of 2024.
