During the press conference held on this occasion, the ambassador stressed that the shipment represents a practical embodiment of Egyptian-Zambian cooperation in the health sector, and reflects Egypt’s commitment to supporting health security in the African continent, explaining that the existing cooperation between the two countries is not limited to the supply of medicines only, but extends to include the transfer of expertise, capacity building, training and technical cooperation, which opens the way for broader partnerships in the fields of pharmaceutical manufacturing and health investment in the future.

For their part, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health for Technical Services, the Acting Director General of the ZAMMSA Agency, and the Advisor to the President of the Republic of Zambia on Health Affairs praised the existing health cooperation between Egypt and Zambia, stressing that the Egyptian pharmaceutical shipment represents important support for enhancing pharmaceutical security and improving health services in Zambia, and praising the direct government procurement mechanism between the two countries, expressing their hope to continue cooperation to enhance the manufacturing of medicines and the transfer of Egyptian technology and expertise.
Egypt promotes the African Business Summit in El Alamein during an event in Zambia
In a separate context, Mayada Essam, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the Republic of Zambia, organized a third promotional event for the Alamein Africa Business Summit “Alamein Africa GO63”, at the Egyptian Embassy residence in the Zambian capital, Lusaka, on June 5, 2026, with the participation of a number of senior officials and representatives of the public and private sectors in Zambia.
The event was attended by Kosubele Kamwambi, Head of the Presidential Programme Implementation Follow-up Unit in Zambia, Albert Halwamba, Director General of the Zambia Development Agency, Mulele M. Mulele, Permanent Secretary for Economic and Financial Administration at the Zambian Ministry of Finance and National Planning, Christopher Onyango, Director of Trade and Customs at the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA), and Justin C. Lungu, Executive Director of Zesco Electric, along with a select group of representatives from the Zambian business community and government institutions.
