Mayada Essam Abdel Rahman, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt in ZambiaA meeting was held at the embassy today between representatives of the Egyptian Civil Aviation Authority and EgyptAir and Air Cairo from the Egyptian side virtually, and representatives of the Zambian Civil Aviation Authority and Zambia Airports Corporation from the Zambian side.

Egyptian-Zambian meeting to discuss resuming direct air links between Cairo and Lusaka
The meeting discussed the proposed mechanisms for the resumption of air services between Cairo and Lusaka, in implementation of the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema, following the Zambian President’s visit to Egypt in February 2025.

In another context, Ambassador Nevin El-Husseini, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the Republic of Angola, met with Ambassador Domingos Custódio Vieira Lopes, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for International Cooperation and Angolan Communities, accompanied by a delegation of experts from Pharco Pharmaceuticals.
The meeting addressed ways to enhance Egyptian-Angolan cooperation in the pharmaceutical field, and explored opportunities to benefit from Egyptian expertise to support efforts to develop the pharmaceutical supply, production and distribution system in Angola, in order to support the health sector and enhance its capabilities.
Angola is the second largest Portuguese-speaking country in terms of total area and population after Brazil, and the fifth largest country in Africa.
Meanwhile, Kigali, the capital of Rwanda, is preparing to launch the African CEO Forum, the largest gathering of the private sector in Africa, on May 14 and 15, at a time when Africa no longer wants to be portrayed as an arena of competition between global powers, but rather wants to be recognized as an economic, industrial and political player in the present.
Rwandan President Paul Kagame received a delegation headed by Egyptian businessmen Ahmed El Sewedy, CEO of El Sewedy Electric, and Hossam El Shaer, Chairman of Sunrise Cruises and Madar Resorts, in the capital. KigaliOn the sidelines of the African CEO Forum, which will be held in the capital Kigali on May 14 and 15, 2026.
