Egyptian Assistant Foreign Minister praises Zoom Africa News: An important platform to enhance Egypt's presence in Africa

Ambassador Karim Sharif, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt, stressed the importance of the role played by specialized media platforms in supporting the Egyptian presence within the African continent, noting that the “Zoom Africa News” website represents an effective mechanism to enhance communication between Egypt and the countries of the continent, and to introduce the Egyptian vision at various levels.
The ambassador explained on the sidelines of the website launch ceremony that the existence of a media platform directed towards Africa contributes to conveying a clear picture of the Egyptian interior, and at the same time informs Egyptian society about developments in the African continent, which enhances mutual understanding and opens up broader horizons for cooperation.
He added that launching such platforms comes within the framework of the efforts made by the Egyptian state during the recent period to strengthen its presence within Africa, whether on the political, economic or cultural level, stressing that the media plays a pivotal role in supporting these moves.

He stressed the importance of employing the tools of cultural diplomacy and soft power in building bridges of communication with African peoples, noting that specialized media represents one of the main pillars in this approach.
Ambassador Karim Sherif concluded his remarks by emphasizing that the existence of a platform like Zoom Africa News is an important step to convey the Egyptian vision to the continent and to enhance Egypt’s position as a key partner in the path of African development and cooperation.
Launch of Zoom Africa News website
Ambassador Karim Sharif, Assistant Foreign Minister, participated yesterday, Monday, in the launch ceremony of the website Zoom Africa News ZOOM AFRICA NEWS, with the attendance of a number of Egyptian and African officials and experts specializing in African affairs.
The ceremony was attended by a group of officials and experts on African affairs in Egypt, most notably former Foreign Minister Ambassador Mohamed El-Orabi, and a number of Egyptian and African officials and public figures in Cairo.
For her part, journalist Sally Atef, Chairperson of the Board of Directors and Editor-in-Chief, announced the launch of the ZOOM AFRICA NEWS website in three languages, Arabic, English and French, to be the first African portal for news.
