Zambian politician Joseph Kazila has officially announced his candidacy for parliament on behalf of the ruling United Party for National Development in Zambia, in preparation for the upcoming elections. He confirmed that his election campaign will officially begin on May 23, 2026 and run until August 12 of the same year, amidst extensive efforts to mobilize popular and financial support to ensure the campaign's success and reach various voter groups.
In a message to his friends and colleagues in Egypt, Kazila explained that the current stage requires concerted efforts and the provision of necessary support in order to implement an effective election campaign capable of conveying his political program and development vision to citizens in various Zambian regions.

Enhancing the media reach of the campaign
The ruling party's candidate stressed that the election campaign needs significant financial resources to cover basic expenses, including printing campaign materials, organizing public activities, supporting mobilization efforts and field communication with voters, as well as enhancing the campaign's media presence in the coming months.
Casella noted that any financial contribution, no matter how large, would play an important role in supporting the campaign's progress and achieving its political goals, expressing his deep appreciation to everyone who contributes to this stage, which he described as pivotal in his political career.
He said that the support coming from friends and partners in Egypt carries great moral and political value, especially in light of the growing relations between African peoples and the increasing cooperation between the countries of the continent in various political, economic and social fields.
These moves come at a time when the political arena in Zambia is preparing for upcoming legislative elections, which are witnessing strong competition between different political parties, amid growing interest from the Zambian public in economic and development issues, improving the level of services and job opportunities.
Party leads the government
The United National Development Union (UNDU) is one of the leading political forces in Zambia, leading the current government and seeking to maintain its parliamentary presence and strengthen its influence during the upcoming elections.
Joseph Kazela called on those wishing to support his election campaign to contribute through the bank accounts he has set up to receive donations inside Egypt and Zambia, stressing that this support will represent a strong boost to the campaign during the coming period, and will also help in implementing field activities and reaching the largest possible segment of voters.
The Zambian candidate concluded his message by thanking all supporters and backers, stressing that their contributions and encouragement will remain appreciated and valued during this important stage of his political and electoral career.
