Talks between the presidents of Congo and Burundi to strengthen security and combat Ebola
Joint efforts to address health and security challenges

The President of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Felix Antoine Chiskidi Chilombo, accompanied by First Lady Denise Nyakeru, met with his counterpart Evariste Ndayishimiye, President of Burundi and current Chairman of the African Union, during an official visit to the capital Kinshasa.
A grand official reception ceremony was held for the Burundian president, within the framework of the close relations that bind the two countries, which are described as being of a strategic and vital nature, in light of the common challenges facing the region.
The talks between the two sides are scheduled to cover a number of vital issues, most notably strengthening security cooperation, coordinating efforts to combat the Ebola outbreak, as well as discussing Burundi’s role in chairing the African Union, and prospects for joint action to support regional stability.

The visit reflects the two countries’ keenness to strengthen the bilateral partnership and intensify joint efforts to address health and security challenges, contributing to stability and development in the Central and East African region.
