In response to dengue fever, Sudan receives 26 tons of medicines and intravenous solutions from the World Health Organization.

The Federal Ministry of Health in Sudan announced that it had received a huge medical shipment of (26) tons of medicines, intravenous solutions and health supplies, provided by the World Health Organization, as part of the early national response plan aimed at raising the level of preparedness to the maximum to confront autumn emergencies and reduce the spread of seasonal epidemics.

Preventive and precautionary measures

The ministry explained that this shipment is a key part of the preventive and precautionary measures adopted by the state to combat the risks of dengue fever and tropical diseases associated with the rainy season and floods. Health authorities confirmed that the received medicines and solutions will be immediately distributed to the states and regions most vulnerable to health risks, ensuring a rapid field response and the provision of necessary medical care to citizens at service centers.

The Ministry of Health commended the strategic partnership and ongoing cooperation with the World Health Organization and all international health sector partners, noting that this support contributes significantly to strengthening the stability of the health system and securing the country’s strategic drug stock, thus ensuring the effectiveness of medical interventions in epidemic emergencies and securing the general health situation in all states of Sudan.
