Namibia's ambassador to Cairo participates in a conference on protecting Jerusalem and supporting the rights of the Palestinian people.

Ambassador Witch Morkle Yeo Mobya, Ambassador of the State of Namibia to the Arab Republic of Egypt, participated in the 2026 conference on the issue of Jerusalem.

The United Nations Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People called for a conference on the issue of Jerusalem, entitled: “The front line between displacement and annexation: the key to a just and lasting peace,” in cooperation with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

The conference brought together diplomats, international organizations and stakeholders to discuss the importance of protecting the city of Jerusalem, preserving the historical status quo in the holy sites, and supporting the rights, presence and sovereignty of the Palestinian people in Jerusalem and the occupied Palestinian territories.

The discussions also addressed the challenges posed by displacement and the expansion of illegal settlements, stressing the need to achieve a just, comprehensive and lasting peace in accordance with international law and relevant United Nations resolutions.

The Embassy of the Republic of Namibia reaffirms its commitment to supporting peaceful dialogue, multilateral cooperation, and international efforts aimed at achieving a just and lasting solution to the Palestinian question.
