Deputy Foreign Minister meets with Ghanaian President in Accra in the presence of the Egyptian Ambassador

Ambassador Nabil Habashi, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptians Abroad, met with Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama during an official visit to the capital Accra, where he delivered a message from President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, in the presence of Ambassador Wael Fathi, Egypt’s Ambassador to Ghana.
The meeting comes as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen Egyptian-Ghanaian relations and develop joint cooperation between the two countries in various fields, in addition to coordinating on African and international issues of common interest.
Ghanaian praise for growing relations with Egypt
During the meeting, the Ghanaian President expressed his appreciation for the positive developments in relations between Cairo and Accra in recent times, stressing the importance of continuing joint work to enhance political, economic and cultural cooperation between the two countries.
He also praised the generous gesture of President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, and his keenness to support Ghanaian efforts aimed at implementing the United Nations resolution on recognizing the phenomenon of the enslavement of Africans as one of the most serious crimes against humanity, a file that Ghana pays special attention to within the framework of its efforts to preserve the historical memory of the African continent and to do justice to the victims of that era.
Egyptian support for African issues
The meeting reflects the continued Egyptian role in supporting African issues within international forums, as Cairo is keen to enhance coordination with African countries on political, developmental and historical issues that represent a priority for the continent.
