التقى السفير الدكتور عبيدة الدندراوي، سفير جمهورية مصر العربية لدى إثيوبيا، ومندوبها الدائم لدى African Union ولجنة الأمم المتحدة الاقتصادية لإفريقيا، كلافر جاتيتي، وكيل الأمين العام للأمم المتحدة السكرتير التنفيذي للجنة الأمم المتحدة الاقتصادية لأفريقيا.
وخلال اللقاء الذي انعقد في التاسع والعشرين من يونيو، بحضور السكرتير الثاني من البعثة المصرية، محمد الصغير، حيث تناول أوجه التعاون بين لجنة الأمم المتحدة الاقتصادية لإفريقيا، ومصر في عدد من الموضوعات تضمنت مسألة الديون، لاسيما على ضوء الدور البارز لمصر في التعاطي مع ازمة الديون.

كما تناول اللقاء، أهم مجالات عمل اللجنة مع الجانب المصري، وكذلك دور مصر في نقل خبراتها إلى عدد من الدول الإفريقية في إطار اللجنة.
كما جرى تبادل الرؤى حول أهم الموضوعات القارية، خاصة الجهود الحالية للجنة لرفع مستوى جاهزية الدول الإفريقية في التعامل مع انتشار الأمراض والأوبئة خاصة من خلال دعم اللجنة لتمويل الصحة المستدام في الدول الأفريقية.
Cairo supports Bujumbura in its bid to succeed as president of the African Union.
في سياق منفضل، التقى السفير الدكتور عبيدة الدندراوي، ممثل جمهورية مصر العربية لدى الاتحاد الأفريقي، بالسفير ويلي نياميتوي، سفير جمهورية بوروندي لدى جمهورية إثيوبيا الفيدرالية الديمقراطية والمندوب الدائم لبلاده لدى الاتحاد الأفريقي، ورئيس لجنة المندوبين الدائمين، وذلك في إطار المشاورات المستمرة بشأن القضايا المدرجة على أجندة العمل الأفريقي المشترك.
The meeting addressed a number of priority topics of interest to the member states of the African Union during the current stage, in addition to discussing the files on the agenda of the Burundian presidency of the African Union, and ways to advance integration and cooperation efforts between African countries in a way that serves the interests of the continent and its people.
During the meeting, Ambassador Dr. Obaida Al-Dandrawi affirmed the Arab Republic of Egypt’s full support for the Republic of Burundi during its presidency of the African Union, stressing Cairo’s keenness to cooperate and coordinate with Bujumbura in order to make this presidency a success and achieve the desired goals, in a way that contributes to strengthening joint African action and consolidating the principles of solidarity and cooperation among member states.
The Egyptian ambassador pointed to the importance of continuing efforts to address the common challenges facing the African continent, and to work on implementing development, stability and security priorities, in line with the aspirations of the African peoples and the goals of the African Union's development agenda.
For his part, Ambassador Willy Nyamitwe expressed his appreciation for Egypt’s continued support for the African Union and for the various initiatives aimed at strengthening continental action, stressing the importance of continued coordination and consultation among member states to ensure tangible results during the Burundian presidency.
