Trade volume between Egypt and the G7 countries reached $36.5 billion during the year.

Statistics show that Italy is the largest importer of Egyptian products.

Announced Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics In Egypt, the value of Egyptian exports to the G7 industrialized countries increased by 15.6% during 2025, recording $11.1 billion compared to $9.6 billion during 2024, coinciding with the start of the G7 summit in the French city of Evian during the period from June 15 to 17.

The G7 group includes the United States, France, Italy, Germany, the United Kingdom, Canada and Japan, and is one of the world’s largest advanced economies.

Italy is the largest importer

The agency explained in a statement issued on Monday that Italy topped the list of the group's countries that imported the most from Egypt during 2025 with a value of $4.1 billion, followed by the United States of America with about $2.7 billion, then the United Kingdom with $1.6 billion, Germany with $1.2 billion, France with $1.1 billion, Canada with $197.5 million, while Japan came in last place with a value of $63 million.

Fuel and ready-made garments are Egypt's main exports to the G7 countries

Egypt’s main exports to the group’s countries included fuels, mineral oils and distillation products worth $2.2 billion, ready-made garments worth $1.8 billion, vegetables and fruits worth about $982 million, fertilizers worth $758 million, aluminum and its products worth $571 million, and plastics and their products worth $489 million.

In contrast, the value of Egyptian imports from the G7 countries increased by 25.1% during 2025 to reach $25.4 billion, compared to $20.3 billion during 2024.

The United States is the largest exporter to Egypt

The United States of America topped the list of countries exporting to Egypt with a value of $13 billion, followed by Germany with $4.5 billion, then Italy with $3 billion, France with $1.8 billion, the United Kingdom with $1.7 billion, Japan with $934.5 million, and finally Canada with $357.5 million.

Egypt’s main imports from the group countries included fuels, mineral oils and distillation products worth $8.4 billion, machinery and electrical and mechanical appliances worth $3.4 billion, cars, tractors and bicycles worth $2.2 billion, oilseeds, fruits and medicinal plants worth $2.1 billion, in addition to pharmaceutical products worth $1.4 billion.

The agency noted that the volume of trade exchange between Egypt and the G7 countries increased by 22.1% during 2025, recording $36.5 billion compared to $29.9 billion during 2024.

Regarding investments, the investments of the G7 countries in Egypt amounted to about $10.1 billion during the 2024/2025 fiscal year, compared to $9.2 billion during the previous fiscal year, with a growth rate of 10.45%.

The United States topped the list of the largest investors from the group countries in Egypt with investments amounting to $3.3 billion, followed by the United Kingdom with $2.9 billion, then Italy with $2.5 billion, France with $767.1 million, Germany with $446.3 million, Japan with $191.5 million, and Canada with $60.2 million.

In contrast, Egyptian investments in the G7 countries rose to $6.7 billion during the 2024/2025 fiscal year, compared to $6.3 billion during the previous fiscal year, an increase of 5.57%.

Statistics data also revealed that remittances from Egyptians working in the G7 countries grew by 52.1% during the fiscal year 2024/2025, reaching $4.8 billion compared to $3.2 billion during the fiscal year 2023/2024.

The United States topped the list of countries with the highest value of remittances from Egyptians working there, with about $3.1 billion, followed by the United Kingdom with $1.1 billion, then Germany, Italy, Canada, France and Japan.

At the same time, remittances from workers in G7 countries within Egypt increased by 44.2% to reach $192.3 million during the 2024/2025 fiscal year, compared to $133.4 million during the previous fiscal year.

The agency explained that the number of Egyptians residing in the G7 countries reached about 3.2 million Egyptians by the end of 2024, according to estimates from Egyptian missions abroad.
