South Sudan: Cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Juba Airport to enhance diplomatic services and air connectivity.

Discussions focused on developing diplomatic services and expanding international air agreements.

South Sudan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Dr. James Pitia Morgan, discussed with the Director General of Juba International Airport, Captain Amil Ajongo Mawut, ways to enhance cooperation between the ministry and the airport administration, with the aim of developing services provided to foreign visitors and official delegations and improving the airport’s readiness to receive international figures.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed mechanisms to enhance coordination in providing diplomatic and protocol services, while the director of Juba International Airport called for support for efforts to complete the pending bilateral air services agreements and memoranda of understanding with a number of countries, which would contribute to expanding the network of air flights and improving operational standards and international connectivity for South Sudan.

Minister Morgan affirmed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ commitment to supporting the civil aviation sector, announcing the Ministry’s readiness to provide training and qualification opportunities for airport staff through the Diplomatic Institute, with the aim of raising professional efficiency and enhancing protocol and ceremonial management skills, in a step that reflects the government’s direction towards developing the infrastructure and services related to international travel and investment.
