رئيس جنوب السودان يشرف على مراسم القسم الدستوري
وعلى صعيد آخر، أشرف رئيس جمهورية جنوب السودان، الفريق أول سلفا كير ميارديت، اليوم MondayThe ceremony included the swearing-in of a number of new officials, including a special presidential envoy, a government minister, a member of the National Elections Commission, and members of the new board of directors of the South Sudan Broadcasting Corporation (SSBC).
The swearing-in ceremony took place at the Presidential Palace (J1), where the new officials pledged to abide by the constitution, be loyal to the Republic of South Sudan, perform their duties honestly and faithfully, preserve the sovereignty of the state, and serve the citizens with integrity and impartiality.
During the ceremony, the President of South Sudan stressed the importance of assuming national responsibilities with a spirit of commitment and competence, calling on the new officials to work on strengthening state institutions and improving the level of services provided to citizens.
The President also directed that reforms be carried out within the South Sudan Broadcasting Corporation, stressing the need to develop the performance of the national institution, in order to enhance its media role and improve the quality of public service it provides to citizens.
In another context, the Governor of the Bank of South Sudan, Johnny Ohisa Damian, issued a decision to dissolve the Bank of South Sudan Employees Union (BoSSWTU) until further notice, based on the provisions of Article (26/1) of the Bank of South Sudan Amended Act of 2023.
According to the decision, the administration based its decision on two main justifications for taking this step. The first is that the union held a general assembly meeting and issued a deadline for senior management to respond to the employees’ demands. The second reason relates to the accusation that the union incited the implementation of a sit-in and strike by workers on July 7, 2026.
