The National Council for Women Appoints Souzan El-Kalliny as Official Spokesperson, Praising Her Media Leadership

Capping a long academic, media, and professional career

The National Council for Women, headed by The Consultant Amal Ammar, Dr. Suzanne Al-Qalini was assigned the duties of the official spokesperson for the Council, during the last periodic meeting, in a step that reflects the Council's direction to utilize national competencies with high media experience.

The appointment is a culmination of an extensive academic, media, and professional career. Dr. Susan El-Qalliny is considered one of the most prominent media and academic leaders in Egypt and the Arab world, due to her deep expertise in the fields of media, institutional communication, crafting media messages, and public service.

Al-Qalini held a number of prominent leadership positions, including Dean of the Faculty of Arts at Ain Shams University from 2015 to 2019, then Dean of the Faculty of Mass Communication at Liwa University in the United Arab Emirates from 2019 to 2022. She currently holds the position of Media Advisor and Official Spokesperson for the President of Ain Shams University, in addition to the position of Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Ain Shams Private University.

She has also held a number of important advisory positions, including media advisor to the president of Ain Shams University, media advisor to the Minister of Health and Population, and media advisor to the People's Assembly, in addition to her membership in the first formation of the Supreme Council for Media Regulation, membership in the Media Sector Committee of the Supreme Council of Universities, and her membership in the Media Committee of the Supreme Council of Culture.

On the scientific level, Al-Qalini has a distinguished academic record, having enriched the Arab library with more than 23 scientific works, in addition to over 40 research papers published in peer-reviewed international journals, as well as supervising and discussing more than 120 master's and doctoral theses, and her active participation in numerous scientific conferences inside and outside Egypt.

This choice reflects the great confidence placed in Dr. Suzan El-Kalliny, her ability to leverage her expertise to support the National Council for Women's strategy, enhance its media presence, and highlight its efforts in empowering Egyptian women and advocating for their issues at various levels.
