Sisi meets with the foreign ministers of Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and Turkey... Details of the quadrilateral consultations

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received today Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah Al Saud, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and Hakan Fidan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey, in the presence of Dr. Badr Abdel-Aty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptians Abroad.

The official spokesman for the Presidency of the Republic stated that the President welcomed the convening of the fourth meeting of the foreign ministers of the Quartet Group, which includes Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Turkey, and which is being hosted by Cairo, stressing that recent regional developments have highlighted the centrality of these countries as key pillars of regional stability and security, which reinforces the importance of continuing this consultative mechanism and developing it to become an effective institutional framework capable of formulating comprehensive and sustainable solutions to the region’s crises.

Intensive coordination between the four countries

The President also appreciated the intensive coordination that took place between the four countries during the past period, stressing Egypt’s keenness to continue working with Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Turkey and all Arab and regional countries to support the implementation of the US-Iranian memorandum of understanding and to make the negotiation track between the two sides a success, as well as to reach a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue, considering it a fundamental condition for achieving comprehensive and sustainable stability in the region.

Ambassador Mohamed El Shenawy, the official spokesperson, added that the three ministers expressed their deep gratitude for meeting the President, a meeting that reaffirms Egypt’s firm stance of engaging positively and constructively in efforts to support peace and stability regionally and internationally.

The fourth meeting in Cairo

The ministers praised the constructive discussions that took place during their fourth meeting in Cairo, stressing their agreement with what the President had proposed regarding the priority of developing the existing coordination between the four countries into an effective institutional framework.

The official spokesperson indicated that the meeting also addressed the latest developments in the course of the Iranian crisis, where the President reiterated Egypt’s welcome of the memorandum of understanding reached between the American and Iranian sides, praising the active role played by Pakistan in bringing the positions closer and bridging the gaps between the two sides.

Continued implementation of the memorandum of understanding and completion of negotiations

He stressed the need to continue joint work to implement the memorandum of understanding and complete negotiations between the two sides to reach a comprehensive and sustainable final agreement, stressing that the final agreement must guarantee the security of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries and all Arab countries, and take into account their concerns, especially respecting the sovereignty of countries and the integrity of their territories, adhering to the principles of good neighborliness, guaranteeing freedom of navigation, and adhering to the settlement of disputes by peaceful means.
