N'Djamena requires institutions to have waste containers and fire extinguishers.

The municipality announced N'Djamena Regarding the obligation of all commercial establishments, restaurants, nightclubs and similar facilities to install standard waste containers and fire extinguishers appropriate to the nature of their activity, according to the decision issued on April 3, 2026.

These measures aim to promote public health, improve waste management, and reduce the risk of fires in public spaces. The municipality called on business owners to comply with these requirements as soon as possible to avoid any potential penalties.

N'Djamena requires institutions to have waste containers and fire extinguishers.

The municipal health police teams, the sanitation, environment and health department, and the municipal police continue awareness and monitoring campaigns throughout the city to ensure the implementation of the decision.

Chad strengthens legal memory and launches the digital platform for the Official Gazette

In a separate context, the General Secretariat of the Government today launched the digital platform of the Official Gazette of the Republic of Chad, during an official ceremony attended by the Prime Minister, Head of Government, Ambassador Allah May Halina, along with a number of members of the government and international partners, including representatives of the European Union and the United Nations Development Programme.

The Minister and Secretary-General of the Government affirmed that launching the platform represents an important step towards modernizing public administration and preserving the legal memory of the state.

She explained that it provides access to legal and regulatory texts issued since independence in both Arabic and French, in addition to publishing public procurement documents to promote transparency and ease of access to information.

For his part, Prime Minister Ambassador Almay Halina praised the team’s efforts in completing the project, stressing that digitization has become a necessity for developing administration, improving public services, and enhancing citizens’ trust in state institutions.

For her part, the representative of the United Nations Development Programme affirmed that the platform represents an important advance in the field of digital governance, noting the Programme’s continued support for the Chadian government’s efforts to modernize administration and enhance transparency.

The platform allows searching through old and new issues of the Official Gazette, in addition to viewing tenders, public deals and administrative decisions through a modern digital system.
