Liberia's President travels to Turkey: A visit to strengthen cooperation and attract investment opportunities

President Joseph Nyuma Boakai Sr. is leaving Liberia this morning on a working visit to Istanbul, the capital of the Republic of Turkey, where he will hold a series of meetings aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and encouraging investment opportunities in Liberia.
Anticipated meeting between the presidents of Liberia and Turkey
President Boakai is expected to meet with his Turkish counterpart, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, during the visit to discuss issues of mutual interest and explore avenues to enhance cooperation between Liberia and Turkey.
The bilateral talks will focus on expanding cooperation in key sectors, including trade and investment, infrastructure, healthcare, education, agriculture, energy, and technical cooperation.
Investment opportunities in Liberia
In addition to his official meetings, the Liberian President will meet with prominent Turkish businessmen and investors to showcase Liberia's investment potential and encourage increased private sector participation in the country's development. These meetings are expected to contribute to strengthening economic partnerships and attracting investments to priority sectors of the Liberian economy.
President Boukai is accompanied by a small delegation that includes the Minister of State without portfolio, Haja Mamaka Baliti, along with high-ranking government officials.
During the President's absence, the Minister of State for Presidential Affairs, His Excellency Samuel A. Stevkoah, will chair the Cabinet in consultation with His Excellency the Vice President, maintaining regular communication with the President.
The President is expected to return to Liberia at the end of the week after concluding his engagements in Turkey.
