A pricing system was approved electrical services In Egypt, a new accounting tariff for domestic uses has been introduced, and the pricing system has decided to fix the accounting tariff for the first segment of the domestic sector as it is without change during the current stage, in order to ensure the stability of the electricity supply and to guarantee the financial sustainability of the electricity and renewable energy system in terms of production, transmission and distribution.
The electricity services pricing system has taken all measures, including studies, measurements, and pricing equations, in light of the constant directive to consider the social dimension and alleviate the burden on citizens in order to achieve a balance between the inevitable obligations of the electricity production, transmission, and distribution system and the determination of the new accounting tariff, in which the percentage of change, as an average, ranged 12% compared to the current tariff for the accounting brackets for domestic use.
The state bears 100 billion pounds annually
It is worth noting that the state bears 100 billion pounds annually as the difference between the cost of producing a kilowatt-hour according to the fuel prices paid by electricity production companies and the new accounting tariff that was approved, whereby the citizen bears 25% of the value of the bill when consuming 50 kilowatt-hours, and the state bears 103 pounds.
When consuming 100 kilowatt-hours, the citizen pays 30% of the bill, with the state bearing 191 pounds. When consuming 200 kilowatt-hours, the state bears 318 pounds, and the citizen pays 42% of the total bill value. When consuming 300 kilowatt-hours per month, the subscriber pays 49% of the cost value, with the state bearing 419 pounds. In the bill for consuming 400 kilowatt-hours, the citizen pays 54% of the actual cost, with the state bearing 500 pounds. When consuming 500 kilowatt-hours, the citizen pays 59% of the total cost, with the state bearing 560 pounds.
When consuming 600 kilowatt-hours, the citizen pays 62% and the state bears 620 pounds for each bill. When consumption ranges between 700 and 1000 kilowatt-hours, the citizen bears 88% of the total actual cost of the bill, while when consuming 2000 kilowatt-hours, the citizen pays 100% of the value of the bill.
