Xi Jinping added that the rise of China and the United States can go hand in hand, serving the interests of both peoples and contributing to global stability, stressing that this visit opens new horizons for understanding and partnership between the world’s two largest economies.

This came during a speech he delivered at an official dinner he hosted in honor of US President Donald Trump, where he noted that relations between China and the United States are the most important in the world, given their direct impact on international stability and development.

 

 

US President Donald Trump arrived in the Chinese capital, Beijing, where he received a grand official welcome that included celebratory ceremonies described by CNN as reflecting the luxurious style preferred by the US president.

Chinese President Xi Jinping dispatched his deputy, Han Zheng, to lead the welcoming delegation, a move that reflects the diplomatic importance of the visit between the two sides.

In a separate development, the White House announced on Thursday that the United States andChina They reached a common understanding on the need to ensure the continued flow of energy supplies through the Strait of Hormuz, in order to maintain global trade and prevent any disruptions in energy markets.

According to Arab and international media reports, a White House official said that the two sides also agreed to reject Iran's possession of a nuclear weapon, stressing that this position represents a key point of convergence between Washington and Beijing.

 

The official added that Chinese President Xi Jinping expressed his country's opposition to any attempts to militarize the Strait of Hormuz, or to impose fees or restrictions on its use, noting the importance of keeping the shipping lane open for international trade.

He explained that the Chinese president has shown increasing interest in purchasing additional quantities of American oil, as part of Chinese efforts to reduce dependence on supplies passing through the strait.
