وبعد ثماني سنوات من إنشاء هذا المجلس، حرص رئيسا الدولتين على أن تكون هذه الدورة بمثابة تقييم وتفعيل، لضمان ترجمة الالتزامات إلى نتائج ملموسة وقابلة للقياس لصالح الشعبين. وأشادا بالتقدم المحرز، بدءًا من جسر السنغال وغامبيا وصولًا إلى الربط الكهربائي بين شركتي SENELEC وNAWEC، وحددا الأولويات المستقبلية، من ترسيم الحدود المشتركة إلى سد سامبانغالو، بما في ذلك التكامل الاقتصادي والطاقة والزراعة والتكيف مع تغير المناخ.

واختُتمت الدورة بتوقيع اثنتي عشرة اتفاقية وخارطة طريق، تغطي مجالات الدفاع والأمن، والاقتصاد والتجارة، والطاقة والمحروقات، والتكنولوجيا الرقمية، والشباب، والثقافة، والبيئة، والتعاون عبر الحدود. أكد الرئيسان مجددًا التزامهما المشترك بمبادئ السلام والاستقرار وحسن الجوار في إطار المجموعة الاقتصادية لدول غرب أفريقيا (إيكواس) والاتحاد الأفريقي والأمم المتحدة.

وبعيدًا عن الاتفاقات، تكمن أهمية هذا الاجتماع في قناعة مشتركة بين رئيسي الدولتين: إيمانهما بشعب واحد يسكن دولتين، لا يمثل حدودهما خط فاصل بل رابطًا. لقد اختارت السنغال وغامبيا بناء مصير مشترك معًا.

Senegal is one of the main gateways for Egyptian products and investments to enter West African countries, giving Egyptian companies the opportunity to access a regional market of hundreds of millions of consumers.

Continued growth in trade volume

The volume of trade between Egypt and Senegal has witnessed remarkable development in recent years, exceeding $100 million, with Egyptian exports dominating the largest part of bilateral trade.

Egyptian exports to the Senegalese market are diverse, including fertilizers, medicines, processed food products, building materials, ceramics, sanitary ware, chemicals, and ready-made clothing, while Egyptian imports from Senegal remain relatively limited.
