The Tripoli Court of Appeal in Libya said on Monday that the prosecution of Saif al-Islam Muammar Gaddafi has ended.
The verdict was issued under the chairmanship of Counselor Ramadan Ali Balout and the membership of Counselors Samia Ibrahim Al-Talib and Mustafa Al-Maqtouf Ashnina, and in the presence of the representative of the Public Prosecution, Milad Radwan, following sessions of pleadings and deliberations based on articles of the Criminal Procedure Code and the Libyan Penal Code.

The criminal case against him was also dropped after the events of the February 17, 2011 revolution, due to his death before a conviction was issued.
The ruling issued today was part of the criminal case No. (630 of 2014), which was being considered by the Thirteenth Criminal Circuit of the Tripoli Court of Appeal. The case included a number of symbols and leaders of the former regime who were accused in cases related to the suppression of protests and acts of violence during the events of February, according to Russia Today.
The same court also acquitted Abdullah al-Senussi, al-Baghdadi al-Mahmoudi and Mansour Daw, in addition to more than 25 leaders of the former regime, including defendants present in court and others in absentia.
