The official spokesperson for the Presidency stated that during the meeting, the President expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to the Kenyan President for the warm welcome and generous hospitality that characterize the Republic of Kenya and its brotherly people. He affirmed Egypt's pride in its historical and deep-rooted relations with Kenya at both the official and popular levels, and expressed his aspiration to activate the joint presidential declaration signed in January 2025 regarding elevating bilateral relations to the level of a "comprehensive strategic partnership." This partnership would enhance economic integration between the two countries and allow for mutual benefit from the significant potential of their economies, as well as their strategic locations and young human resources. For his part, President Ruto expressed his deep appreciation for the President's active participation in the summit, praising the strategic relations between the two countries and the support Egypt provides to development efforts in Kenya and the Nile Basin countries.

Ambassador Mohamed El Shenawy, the official spokesperson, added that the meeting addressed bilateral cooperation in the field of water resources, where the President reiterated Egypt’s constant commitment to strengthening cooperation with Kenya and the Nile Basin countries in developing water resources in a way that achieves common benefit and ensures that the interests of the countries and their water security are not harmed.

In this context, the President appreciated the outstanding consultation between the two countries to promote cooperation and common interest and avoid division, while the Kenyan President reaffirmed his country’s position supporting the strengthening of consultation and coordination between the countries of the basin in a way that achieves the interests of their peoples and strengthens economic ties between them.

The official spokesperson indicated that the meeting addressed a number of regional issues of common interest, foremost among them the situation in Sudan, where the President stressed the constants of the Egyptian position supporting the stability, sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity of Sudan, stressing the need for concerted international and regional efforts, especially from neighboring countries, to play constructive roles that contribute to restoring stability and avoiding the exacerbation of the security and humanitarian situation.

The President reviewed the Egyptian efforts aimed at restoring regional security and stability, and the Egyptian vision that calls for directing resources towards development and meeting the aspirations of peoples for security and prosperity instead of draining the capabilities of countries in armed conflicts.

President Ruto expressed his appreciation for this vision, stressing his country’s keenness to continue coordinating with Egypt to achieve peace and stability in Africa and the Middle East. The two presidents agreed to enhance consultation and joint coordination during the next stage.

President Sisi meets with the President of Chad

In a related context, President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi met today with President Mohamed Idriss Deby, President of the Republic of Chad, on the sidelines of the “Africa-France” summit held in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi.

The official spokesman for the Presidency of the Republic stated that the meeting addressed ways to enhance bilateral relations between the two countries, where the President affirmed in this regard Egypt’s keenness to continue developing these relations in various political, economic, trade and development fields, in order to strengthen the historical ties that unite the two brotherly peoples, and in a way that meets their aspirations for development, prosperity and flourishing.

In this context, the President stressed the importance of building on the positive results achieved by the work of the joint committee between the two countries, which convened in Cairo in November 2025.

Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy noted that the Chadian President expressed his country's appreciation for the close relations with Egypt, emphasizing his keenness to deepen bilateral cooperation, particularly in the areas of trade and investment, as well as infrastructure development and advancing comprehensive development efforts. President Déby also commended the existing cooperation with Egypt in the health sector.
