The U.S. Central Command denied the statements of the commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy, who said that “no foreign ships are allowed to pass through the Strait of Hormuz without Iranian forces identifying, tracking, and monitoring them.”.
The Central Command affirmed that the Strait of Hormuz is not under Iran's control, stressing that it is an international waterway. It added that U.S. forces are stationed in the region and ready to ensure the continued freedom of navigation, according to what was reported by the “Al-Sharq” news website.
The Strait of Hormuz remains open
In the same context, U.S. President Donald Trump said in an interview with NBC News on Sunday that the Strait of Hormuz remains open, following Iranian claims to close it.

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard had announced on Sunday the closure of the Strait of Hormuz “until further notice,” emphasizing that no ship would be allowed to pass.
Official Iranian media reported that a number of ships attempted to sail through an “unauthorized” route, ignoring warnings. This prompted Iranian forces to fire warning shots towards one of the ships, causing it to stop, according to CNN Arabia.
