The Arab Organization for Industrialization signs a memorandum of understanding with a Nigerian company to enhance cooperation between the two countries.

I signed Arab Organization for Industrialization A memorandum of understanding with the Nigerian company "Venus", with the aim of strengthening industrial cooperation and opening new horizons for economic and technological integration between the two sides.

This comes within the framework of the Authority’s strategic directions, with the aim of promoting exports and expanding the scope of international partnerships.

The memorandum was signed by Major General Engineer Abdel Rahman Abdel Azim Othman, Director General of the Arab Organization for Industrialization, and Saifullah Babangida, CEO of the Nigerian company «Venus», in the presence of a number of officials and representatives of both sides.

Major General Engineer Mokhtar Abdel Latif, Chairman of the Arab Organization for Industrialization, confirmed that the agreement comes within the framework of implementing the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, which aim to enhance cooperation with sister African countries, and open new areas for partnership and integration in various industrial and economic sectors, in line with the objectives of Egypt’s Vision for Sustainable Development 2030.

The head of the authority explained that the two sides agreed to cooperate to meet a number of the needs of the Nigerian Ministry of Defense, praising the industrial capabilities of the "Venus" company, which is one of the largest private sector companies in Nigeria and operates under a license from the Nigerian Defence Industries Authority (DICON).

He added that the memorandum of understanding aims to strengthen the strategic partnership between the two parties through the localization of technology, the transfer of technical expertise, and increasing the rates of local manufacturing, in addition to qualifying and training Nigerian human resources in the fields of manufacturing and maintenance, by taking advantage of the advanced industrial capabilities and training academies of the Arab Organization for Industrialization.

He pointed out that an agreement was reached on establishing implementation mechanisms and a clear timetable for following up on joint projects, with a focus on opening new export markets in African and Arab countries, through government contracts and projects that contribute to supporting economic cooperation between the two sides.

Mokhtar Abdel Latif affirmed the Authority’s pride in the historical relations that unite Egypt and Nigeria, stressing the importance of continuing coordination and joint work to explore new opportunities for cooperation in the fields of defense and civilian industries, and participation in the implementation of development projects within Nigeria.

For his part, Saifullah Babangida, CEO of the Nigerian company «Venus», and the accompanying delegation members expressed their admiration for the level of technological development and quality of products of the Arab Organization for Industrialization in various industrial sectors, stressing their keenness to expand areas of cooperation with the organization as one of the main industrial pillars in Egypt.

Babangida pointed to the importance of achieving industrial integration between the two sides, working to localize the latest manufacturing and production technologies, and taking advantage of the manufacturing capabilities available to both sides to reduce dependence on foreign imports and enhance opportunities for joint growth in African markets.
