التقى السفير وائل فتحي سفير جمهورية مصر العربية لدى غانا، مع الدكتور جونسون أسيامو، محافظ البنك المركزي الغاني.
يأتي ذلك، لبحث سبل دفع العلاقات بين البلدين، لاسيما في ظل الخبرات المتميزة التي يحظى بها البنك المركزي المصري في مواجهة العديد من التحديات النقدية العالمية والإقليمية.
حيث تطرق الحوار إلى التعاون الفني وتبادل الخبرات والتدريب للكوادر الغانية في المؤسسات التدريبية والمالية المصرية للمساهمة في رفع القدرات.
من ناحيته، أكّد المحافظ الغاني، تطلعه إلى زيارة مصر لحضور اجتماعات البنك الإفريقي للصادرات والواردات “أفريكسيم بنك” في العلمين الجديدة في أكتوبر القادم، بما يتيح الفرصة للتلاقي مع المسئولين المصريين والأجانب المشاركين.
أشاد، بتنامي الاستثمارات المصرية في غانا في ظل العلاقات الأخوية المتميزة تاريخياً بين البلدين والشعبين الصديقين.
Egypt's ambassador to South Africa meets with the head of the African Peer Review Mechanism
Ambassador Ahmed Sherif, Egypt's ambassador to South Africa Botswana and Lesotho, and Egypt’s Permanent Representative to the SADC, with Ambassador Marie Antoinette Rosecatcher, Executive Chair of the African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM).
The meeting addressed ways to enhance cooperation between Egypt and the African Peer Review Mechanism. It also witnessed an exchange of views on developing the Mechanism’s role in supporting member states in implementing the recommendations of the Voluntary Review in the field of governance, through the Governance Support Program that the Mechanism is working to launch, which contributes to strengthening institution building and achieving the goals of Agenda 2063.
Continuing to develop African working mechanisms
Ambassador Ahmed Sherif emphasized the importance of continuing to develop mechanisms for joint African action to enhance the capacity of African Union institutions to respond to the priorities of member states. He also expressed Egypt's appreciation for the role played by the African Peer Review Mechanism in consolidating the principles of good governance, affirming Egypt's commitment to continued cooperation with the Mechanism and the exchange of expertise to support institutional reform efforts and promote development and stability on the African continent.
For her part, the Chair of the Mechanism reviewed the latest developments in the Governance Support Program, explaining that it aims to provide technical and institutional support to member states to implement governance reform priorities, thereby enhancing their ability to translate audit recommendations into practical programs and reforms. She also commended the Egyptian experience in administrative reform and urban development, considering the new capital a model for Africa in addressing the challenges of managing population and urban growth and enhancing the efficiency of public service delivery.
Discussing issues of governance, security and development
The meeting also witnessed an exchange of views on a number of issues related to governance, security and development in the African continent, where both sides stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation and coordination between African institutions in order to support efforts for good governance and sustainable development, and contribute to achieving stability and prosperity in Africa.
