Les autorit\u00e9s sanitaires de la R\u00e9publique d\u00e9mocratique du Congo poursuivent leurs efforts intensifs pour contenir l'\u00e9pid\u00e9mie d'Ebola, malgr\u00e9 les avertissements officiels selon lesquels les cha\u00eenes de transmission sont toujours actives, tandis que l'inqui\u00e9tude internationale grandit face \u00e0 la propagation de la maladie \u00e0 l'int\u00e9rieur et \u00e0 l'ext\u00e9rieur du pays.<\/p>\n

Les autorit\u00e9s sanitaires ont confirm\u00e9 que des foyers d'infection continuent de signaler de nouveaux cas, notamment dans la province orientale d'Ituri, o\u00f9 le syst\u00e8me de sant\u00e9 est soumis \u00e0 une pression immense en raison du nombre \u00e9lev\u00e9 de cas suspects et de la p\u00e9nurie de ressources m\u00e9dicales. L'Organisation mondiale de la Sant\u00e9 qualifie la situation de \u201c\u00a0risque \u00e9lev\u00e9\u00a0\u201d aux niveaux national et r\u00e9gional, en particulier compte tenu des d\u00e9placements transfrontaliers en cours.<\/p>\n

Il s'agit de la dix-septi\u00e8me \u00e9pid\u00e9mie d'Ebola en R\u00e9publique d\u00e9mocratique du Congo depuis la d\u00e9couverte de la maladie en 1976, mais les inqui\u00e9tudes actuelles grandissent en raison de la propagation de la souche rare \u201c Bundibugyo \u201d, pour laquelle il n'existe toujours aucun vaccin ni traitement officiellement approuv\u00e9.<\/p>\n

Une souche rare complique encore davantage la crise sanitaire.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Les rapports sanitaires indiquent que le virus s'est propag\u00e9 silencieusement pendant des semaines avant d'\u00eatre officiellement d\u00e9tect\u00e9, ce qui a entra\u00een\u00e9 une augmentation des infections potentielles et des d\u00e9c\u00e8s dans plusieurs r\u00e9gions de l'est du pays.<\/p>\n

Selon les donn\u00e9es de l'Organisation mondiale de la sant\u00e9 et du minist\u00e8re congolais de la Sant\u00e9, des dizaines de cas confirm\u00e9s ont \u00e9t\u00e9 enregistr\u00e9s, ainsi que des centaines de cas suspects, tandis que le nombre de d\u00e9c\u00e8s annonc\u00e9s a d\u00e9pass\u00e9 les centaines selon les premi\u00e8res estimations, avec l'espoir que les chiffres r\u00e9els soient plus \u00e9lev\u00e9s que ceux annonc\u00e9s en raison des faibles capacit\u00e9s de d\u00e9pistage et de surveillance.<\/p>\n

Le danger de la souche Bundibugyo r\u00e9side dans le fait qu'il n'existe pas encore de vaccins efficaces contre elle, contrairement \u00e0 certaines autres souches d'Ebola pour lesquelles des vaccins sp\u00e9cifiques ont \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9velopp\u00e9s ces derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es.<\/p>\n

La transmission rapide de l'infection par les fluides corporels et le contact direct rend \u00e9galement le contr\u00f4le de l'\u00e9pid\u00e9mie plus difficile.<\/p>\n

Les manifestations et les p\u00e9nuries de mat\u00e9riel entravent les efforts de confinement.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Les \u00e9quipes d'intervention m\u00e9dicale sont confront\u00e9es \u00e0 d'importants d\u00e9fis sur le terrain, notamment des p\u00e9nuries de m\u00e9dicaments, d'\u00e9quipements de protection et de moyens de transport utilis\u00e9s pour le tra\u00e7age des contacts, ainsi que la propagation de rumeurs et le refus de certains r\u00e9sidents de se conformer aux mesures sanitaires impos\u00e9es.<\/p>\n

Dans certaines zones touch\u00e9es, des manifestations et des violences ont \u00e9clat\u00e9 apr\u00e8s que des familles ont refus\u00e9 de remettre les corps de leurs proches aux \u00e9quipes charg\u00e9es des inhumations s\u00e9curis\u00e9es, ce qui a entra\u00een\u00e9 des affrontements et des actes de vandalisme contre des centres de sant\u00e9, augmentant ainsi le risque de propagation de l'infection au sein des communaut\u00e9s locales.<\/p>\n

Les autorit\u00e9s ont \u00e9galement impos\u00e9 des restrictions aux rassemblements publics et aux c\u00e9r\u00e9monies fun\u00e9raires afin de freiner la propagation du virus, tandis que des centres d'isolement suppl\u00e9mentaires sont mis en place dans les zones les plus touch\u00e9es.<\/p>\n

Avertissements internationaux concernant la propagation croissante du virus<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

La crise sanitaire actuelle suscite des inqui\u00e9tudes internationales croissantes, notamment apr\u00e8s l'enregistrement de cas li\u00e9s \u00e0 l'\u00e9pid\u00e9mie en Ouganda, ainsi que le transfert de ressortissants \u00e9trangers infect\u00e9s ou suspect\u00e9s d'\u00eatre infect\u00e9s vers des pays europ\u00e9ens pour y \u00eatre soign\u00e9s.<\/p>\n

L\u2019Organisation mondiale de la sant\u00e9 a mis en garde contre toute sous-estimation de la gravit\u00e9 de la situation, soulignant que la poursuite des cha\u00eenes actives d\u2019infection pourrait entra\u00eener la propagation de la maladie aux pays voisins si les mesures de confinement ne sont pas rapidement renforc\u00e9es.<\/p>\n
